Commercial Lines/O&CP
The owner of the premises is the only one we will insure, we do not write O&CP for the account of the contractor. Often, a construction contract will require that the contractor obtain O&CP coverage on behalf of the property owner. This presents no problem, however, the Named Insured will always be the property owner. The Owners’ & Contractors’ Protective Liability Coverage Form is a limited form of liability insurance designed to protect the owner of the project for their liability for:
- The operations performed for the owner by the contractor at the specified location.
-
Acts or omissions of the insured (owner) in connection with the general supervision of the contractors operation.
-
Coverage is for “bodily injury” and “property damage” only.
-
“Completed Operations” coverage is not provided.
-
The O&CP policy in most cases is primary.
-
Coverage ceases at the earliest of the following:
-
Work on the project has been completed
-
The project has been put to its intended use
